Eight years before Ridhima walked down the aisle in red, Ashwin had already pictured the moment.
Their story began at NMIMS University in 2016 with a playful exchange that neither of them knew would turn into something lasting. A spirited Mumbai girl and a grounded Bhopali boy, they came from different worlds, yet quickly found a connection that felt effortless.
After four years together, life took them in different directions. As Ridhima began exploring the arranged marriage process, Ashwin realised there was only one future he wanted. What followed were four proposals, countless conversations, and two years of patiently proving that their story deserved another chance. Eventually, love won.
Their wedding at Taj Lakefront, Bhopal became a celebration of everything that brought them together. The festivities beautifully blended Mumbai and Bhopal, most notably during the "Bombay to Bhopal" Haldi, where local trains met nawabi influences and vada pav shared space with poha-jalebi.
The celebrations were filled with personal touches. Ashwin recited shayaris during the Haldi, surprised everyone by singing Piya Ghar Aavenge live during the varmala, and wore a custom embroidered waistcoat that chronicled milestones from their relationship.
But perhaps the most meaningful detail was one only the two of them truly understood. While Ridhima spent months deciding between a pink and red bridal lehenga, Ashwin had quietly imagined seeing her as a bride in red for nearly eight years. On the final day, she chose red—fulfilling a dream he had carried since the beginning.
The wedding was a reflection of patience, persistence, and two people who continued choosing each other through every season of life.
